Based on recent figures, the population of individuals reaching 100 in the UK has increased twofold from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the number of men aged 100 or over has tripled from 910 to 3,100. Over the same period, the amount of women aged 100 or over almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are eager to receive stories from individuals who have reached 100, their relatives or companions, about what it has been like to live through the past century’s major happenings and changes.
