Exploring a Unique Steam Demo: Guiding a Poop with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have discovered a variety of engaging creations from small studios. But, one is particularly notable for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure features a hero that is literally a turd striving to make its way to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: you only need a jump control. In numerous stages, you'll face boss fights and visit a store to acquire outfits for your fecal avatar.

Time your jumps precisely, since one wrong move means beginning again. Bounce using air pockets to propel your character upward, cross crumbling platforms, and interact with switches to open hidden paths. Gather UN-KOINS for buying tougher game content where things ramps up.

In terms of design, the experience features neon level designs and an amazing background music. Its minimalist visual style of shifting geometric shapes evokes memories of fans of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though tough to name other games where you play as a dung character, gaming have long incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, you can make explosives from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as plant food. Unsurprisingly, fecal references appears heavily in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already received notable accolades, including taking top honors at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is ready now on Steam, with the full game set to arrive on Steam on November 19.
